The 140 character whiz kid know as Twitter has carved itself quite a media storm in the last few months with a frenzy of stars and celebrities using Twitter on their television shows , and business strategists saying that we should use Twitter to create hundreds of followers , the interest in Twitter is at a record peak . You probably have friends and work colleagues on Twitter and suppliers may have invited you to join them on Twitter . That leas us to the big question . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?

It seems as though many people are still ignoring the potential of Twitter. That could be because it’s potential is disguised inbetween benile posts about breakfast choice.

The least you’re likely to achieve is a handful of great relationships , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. I mean a few people are just going to wonder if your business (or you) are on Twitter and type in twitter dot com slash acme widgets. Now it will be embarrassing is a cyber squatter is sitting on your own name, so another good reason to make sure you secure your place in the Twit’o'sphere. (By the way things can be done about cyber squatters, just ask me.)

Many people limit themselves to thinking Twitter traffic as being an internal affair . A concept most Twitter directories promote . But with Twitter , the advantages of having your existing customers join you on Twitter are well worth having . So beneficial that we need to take action .

The easiest thing is to add a Twitter “badge” to your web properties . A badge is just an image saying who you are on Twitter with a link to your Twitter page. In the videos , they reveal how , but the badge will get our toe in the water for today .

You can also paste the pure HTML in to most blog widgets. I’ve inserted them on all of my own blogs.

The Twitter badge is contained in its own little HTML DIV tag so should live happily almost anywhere.

If you create a table or div tag to position it in , then you can just paste the code in in that place . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.
