The Radley Bag has become one of the best selling designer handbags in the UK which is all the more remarkable as the company founder started off by selling handbags in Camden Market.

In a recent interview Lowell Harder (Radley’s founder) recalled how many people liked her designs and asked if they could stock them in their shops. Then came the call from John Lewis.

In order to fund the deal John Lewis struck Harder effectively merged the company with Tula an association that ended in 2002 when she bought herself out of the arrangement. 

All Radley bags come adorned with a Scottish Terrier and the “Scotty” features prominently in many of the designs and often makes for a talking point for those discovering the brand for the first time.

Tula itself continues to go from strength to strength and itself has been around for over 30 years.  Tula’s mantra is the design of stylish handbags using beautiful leathers, sold at an affordable price.

Whilst far from cheap, Tula bags offer very good value when compared to their super-brand seniors such as Gucci & Prada.

Tula continue to use an in-house design team who try to put some fun into their products and this has often best been demonstrated through their colourful range of beautifully soft leather purses.
